INFO: Cats on Fire is the best unsigned band in Finland at the moment. And if you want to say that they are not only the best unsigned band in Finland, they are the best band in Finland, I don't think I would argue against you. If someone doesn't sign them soon, I'm gonna make a desperate attempt to gather enough money to release their album by starting a career as a male prostitute while selling t-shirts with stupid quotes like "record labels are clueless" as a side job at the local market.Cats On Fire is just totally wonderful. Somehow you can just feel that same magic in their music that is filling your apartment when you hit such indie pop hall-of-famers as The Smiths, Felt, McCarthy, Another Sunny Day or some other Sarah band in to your stereo system. Mattias Björkas is a really great songwriter. The lyrics are always thoughtful and interesting and the music is just heavenly indiepop. The Seelonce Mayday demo that they did in early 2005 contained three perfect pop songs + one good one. Especially Higher Grounds and The Smell of an Artist are songs that I still keep listening to almost on a daily basis eventhough I'm sure I've listened them hundreds of times. I'm dying to hear more. If you have a label, sign them now. If you organize a club, book them now. If you have neither, just download (I think their releases are pretty much sold out, so perhaps you can't buy) their songs and listen to them. But first make sure that there's room and safe & warm place in your heart waiting for them. Because once you've heard Cats On Fire's magical songs, you don't ever want to let them leave your heart.
