INFO: United formed in 2002. This new band from Stockholm features a sound that is post-minimalistic and yet epic in nature with a line-up that includes 2 guitars, a bass, drums, and keyboards. Echoing the type of introspective desperation of the Manchester post-punk movement of the late 70s and early 80s, United performs songs that are loudly ethereal and yet accessible. While the band's musical influences ranging from Joy Division, the Psychedelic Furs to Echo & the Bunnymen and The Cure can be heard, United succeeds in delivering a unique musical experience and amazing live shows. British rockers Placebo heard the band's first demos following a friend's recommendation and helped United get on the map. As Placebo felt an immediate kinship with United, they invited the band to support them at several sold out shows during their 2003-2004 world tour. After some shows in Germany and France, the band is now working on his 2nd album.
