This happens once a millenium on this side of the channel and the Joakim-produced ‘Budapest’ EP is here to give testimony of the legacy this band is set to leave. The gang of Laurent Bardainne, Nicolas Villebrun, Vincent Taeger and Arnaud Rollin met up at the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique and formed the most respected group of guns for hire on the Parisian marketplace. When not on tour with middle-of-the-road acts with disgusting tastes in music and no usage of underwear, the quartet gathered in an obscure Parisian basement to practise and rehearse Poni Hoax's exquisite art. A chance encounter with Franco-Cambodian fugitive Nicolas Ker at an 18th district juice joint led to the ultimate development of their unique synthesis. Poni are ready to take on everyone from Franz Ferdinand to Modern Lovers, from Esg to Arcade Fire, from Kylie Minogue to Serge Gainsbourg. The Richter scale just moved in dowtown Paris!
