THE SUMMER WARDROBE

ARTIST / BAND: THE SUMMER WARDROBE
SONG (MP3): NED KELLY
ALBUM: The Summer Wardrobe
FILE UNDER: Psychedelic / Ambient / Southern Rock
LABEL: Rainbow Quartz
INFO: Founded in the Spring of 2003, The Summer Wardrobe is Austin's best kept secret, but not for long... Collecting some of Austin's very best session players and live musicians, The Summer Wardrobe is simply tantalizing. With the release of their debut album, Sometimes Late At Night, the band has embarked on a path of psychedelic soul and ambient southern rock. The band's founding members, Jon Sanchez and John Leon, both perform with some of Austin's best singer-songwriters (Abra Moore, Patrice Pike, Billy Harvey, etc.) Seeking their own outlet, they brought in George Duron (of John Wesley Harding and Dumptruck) and bassist Marty Hobratschk. The band gained national recognition by backing Abra Moore at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival. The Wardrobe also participated in this year's SXSW music festival where they opened the Rainbow Quartz Records showcase. The band is now working with Rainbow Quartz to re-release Sometimes Late At Night along with new material for their Rainbow Quartz Records debut.
