INFO: A senior thesis and a 30 foot TV screen. That's how The Never got their start. Then they were called The b-sides. It was the spring of 2000. Guitarist Noah Smith gathered a few friends from his hometown of Pittsboro, North Carolina, formed a band, and presented it as his final high school project. The performance included props, costumes, a 30 foot TV screen replica, and hundreds of TV dinners; it was a bit dramatic. After Smith graduated, it seemed an obvious decision to keep the band together. A palpable chemistry had been struck upon, particularly between Smith and also guitarist Ari Picker.
